Due to the current situation regarding the Coronavirus, Knotts Yard Veterinary Practice will be making changes to try and ensure the safety and wellbeing of our staff and clients. This is also in line with government’s recommendation regarding unnecessary social contact and self-isolation for at risks groups during this unprecedented times. Our governing bodies the RCVS and the BVA have issued revised guidance on the work that veterinary practices can carry out from the 14th April 2020.
We are open from 8.30am – 6pm Monday to Friday. Saturday 8.30am – 12pm
From 14th April we are allowed to start/or complete puppy vaccination courses. At the moment we are not doing routine vaccinations. If you believe that your animal is at high risk then an exception may be made at the discretion of the vet. Please call us as guidelines are being change weekly.
Our phone lines are busy due to operating with less staff then usual so please be patient we if don’t answer straight away. We ARE open and we are prioritising the sickest animals. We want to remain open for genuine emergencies.
Arriving at the practice
Please inform reception that you have arrived by mobile telephone call if possible and wait outside in the car park or in your vehicle. We are working with social distancing in place, to protect yourselves and our staff. We ask you to bring your puppies either in a cat carrier if they are small enough or with a collar and lead so that we can maintain some distance. The vet will come to collect your pet for the appointment. Nobody is permitted to enter the building.
Insurance and administration
We will endeavour to carry out all insurance claims and administrative matters as quick as possible however times may be extended due to lower staff levels.
We want to reassure you that we are open and complying with government restrictions in this crucial time. Our goal is to keep you and our team healthy and minimise the risk of further spreading Covid-19. By doing this, we can all play our part and continue to provide emergency care for all our clients and their pets.
Thank you again for your understanding of this rapidly evolving unprecedented situation. These guidelines are continually being reviewed by our governing bodies and no doubt further updates will follow in the next few weeks.
