What do people say about us?
When our beautiful dog Didi needed a cancerous lump removed from her leg Knotts Yard did a great job and even operated on her the second time when she was 15 years old. Sadly at 16 1/2 we had to make a very difficult decision. The receptionist couldn't have been kinder. Marcus came to the house with a nurse and I was able to spend her last precious moments with her at yhru made it as peaceful as possible. Thank you very much to all the staff.

We have had several of our loved pets registered with Knotts Yard over the years. Our last, Jack the lurcher, sadly had to be put to sleep just after Christmas.
I've never had any reason to criticise the practice but this time they went above and beyond.
Jack's passing was not only dignified and peaceful, but the staff (particularly Marcus, thank you) were exemplary allowing us to spend some time with Jack before and after his passing.
My heartfelt thanks go to the staff at Knotts Yard for making what could have been a traumatic experience a truly emotional moment for my family and me.
Thoroughly recommended for all your pet's needs.

"A big thank you to David Cheal, our wonderful vet who kept our beautiful Tibetan “Tiger Lily” alive, with such a very good quality of life for over 16 yrs.
David showed Tiger such kindness and care over her life and saw her every 3/4 weeks for the last few years of her life.
David was not only Tigers vet but became a friend to Tiger and ourselves. (We miss David already).
Sadly our wonderful, very loved, loyal companion had to leave us, when Rainbow Bridge called last week. David never left Tigers side, showing her and ourselves such kindness, care and compassion whilst Tiger left this world.
To Knotts Yard… a wonderful caring team.

And to David a huge hug and thank you for all the kindness and care you gave to Tiger Lily and our family. We will never forget David.

We would never use any other vets. We trusted David with our most treasured fur baby and he never failed us.
I believe I had an Angel with me for the last 16 years, one who stood by my very side for as long as she possibly could and was given four paws to enable her to be with me.
Tiger has now been given her wings to fly over rainbow bridge, she will now be with our other precious fur babies that we have been blessed with throughout our life.
Sleep tight Tiger the most wonderful friend I could have ever asked for."

"Once again we received excellent service and speedy treatment for our 14 year old diabetic cat. Telephoned yesterday late on and advised to phone this morning for an emergengy appointment today . Took cat to the vet at 9.30 this morning diagnosed and treated by 9.50. Thank you David, the young lady who we spoke to yesterday and the lady who booked the appointment today. Would not take my cat anywhere else. Brilliant."

"We can not recommend them enough. Unfortunately we only used them on two occasions with our old cat, sadly our second visit was to say goodbye to him peacefully after a very short illness. The vet and the whole team are extremely caring and sensitive everything was explained to us and we were given all the time we need before and after so never felt rushed. When my husband said he would go out to settle up we were told not to worry about that now and to call up during the week to pay, when we did we were shocked and pleasantly surprised at the bill as everything at our previous vet was exorbitant we were expecting to pay far more than the bill was. We will always recommend Knotts Yard vet to anyone looking for a good vet."

The Vet was lovely and very approachable. He has an amazing reputation in the community and others cannot recommend him enough and was why I decided upon registering here. All the staff are lovely. "My puppy has been registered here since I got him home back in June 2020. Until yesterday his vet trips had all been routine however yesterday he was not himself at all. After a quick phone call they booked him in at the end of the day, due to covid the measures meant I could not take him in however the Vet and all staff made the process so easy and not traumatic for him (or me)! He had his treatment and came home with tablets and advice for us to follow, this morning I provided an update to the receptionist and thought that was it. But then I receive a call from the vet checking up on him just to make sure he was still doing well. Honestly I’m blown away at the thoughtfulness and care shown by the team. Bertie is doing better today and I feel relieved at my choice to register him at Knotts Yard - brilliant service and care thank you from me and Bertie."

"The most efficient, friendly, pet and people orientated vets I have found, well was recommended to. I just wish we had found you sooner in Luna’s life. Although I only saw Marcus twice with Luna before having to take that extremely difficult but necessary decision, he was empathetic and straight talking which I personally liked. Told it like it was. The lady who dealt with us on ‘that day’ - sorry I didn’t get her name - was extremely understanding of our distress and handled the whole situation in a thoughtful way. The card that arrived afterwards was unexpected but again shows their caring nature.
If you want a good vets, look no further.

"Unfortunately I had my 2 cats (18 and 15 years old) put to sleep within 8 days of each other and the team were amazing. I could not fault their service and empathy especially with the COVID meaning that all the interaction is done from the car. They made sure I had time with each of my cats and that I was able to grieve in private. Every time I rang the vets I would always get told from reception they were sorry for my loss. A few days after losing each cat we received a thinking of you card through the post. This brings such a good touch to their customer service. Thank you for all you did. Would recommend them for support with your animals."

"Excellent, by far the best veterinary practice that I have used for any of my pets over the years. Called at 9.40am on a Saturday as our cat was a bit off balance and got an appointment for 10.15am the very same morning. Amy, the vet who saw our cat on this occasion, was really friendly and thorough, as was the lady on reception who took my initial phone call and dealt with me at the appointment. Yesterday was the third time in a year that our cat has been seen here for various reasons and I have always been extremely happy with the staff and service. You really do get the impression that the people who work here care about the animals and it’s not just all about the money. Prices are very reasonable too. Will definitely be recommending to other pet owners! Thank you!"

"Having been involved with all aspects of animal care from the happy time of births to the sadder times Knotts yard are always amazing. Not only are they incredibly knowledgable but so compassionate. Recently my dog got attacked, although fantastic with my little dog Knotts yard also had to deal with my distressed mother. They were great and helped calm her down as well as seeing to my dog who had been rushed in. A good friend also lost her horse recently and again the whole situation was dealt with with such compassion and helped make all arrangements, she even got a card a few days later to say 'sorry for your loss'. It's little things like that make you feel like all of these people involved in this surgery really do care. This is now not my local surgery and if I'm honest a bit of a pain for me to travel to now but I wouldn't ever consider going anywhere else. YOU ARE FAB!!"

"Can't praise the staff here enough. Took my cat as an emergency today thinking she had been hit by a car, but it turned out she had been attacked by a dog and has numerous bites all over her. Pippa was amazing with Misty and has such a calming effect. We left misty there and we were due to collect her later, then Donna, one of the nurses called and said she could bring misty home to us as her mum lived nearby. This was well beyond the call of duty and so nice to have vets that really do care. Misty has eaten some food, but very nervous if anything makes a noise, which is to be expected. Fingers crossed for a full recovery."

"They are wonderful with all our animals but I'm especially grateful for the wonderful treatment and love they gave my late Border Collie. Thanks to their care she happily lived for 18 months with renal failure and when the time came to say goodbye they gave her the most peaceful and dignified end in our garden in the sunshine. "If you want a practice where you get to see the same vet, each time you need them, then this is the practice for you. The care and attention is second to none. All of this at reasonable prices because they are still independent of the huge corporations. I could not fault the care they gave to my dog during her illness. Having been, previously, with one of the large corporate practices where the vets change like the weather it was wonderful to get continuity of care for her. My current dog has not, as yet, needed much attention but I am happy that they are there if needed."
